Forty years ago two men of vision, Mr. Shinder and Mr. Ellis, decided to turn an ancient and decrepit building in Perrins Court into a new kind of department store. Much faith and imagination and hard work were needed before the dream materialised.

In July 1967 the 'Hampstead Antique Emporium' opened.

The variety of goods on offer is extraordinarily wide:

  • from antiquity to present day
  • East to West

Today the Emporium is still going strong, and over the years shops have opened in the Courtyard. Also, crafts have been added to the antiques.

New customers, finding us by chance, have been heard to say:
"This must be the best kept secret in Hampstead..."

What we offer:
furniture, paintings • art deco • silver and jewellery • glass • china • lacquer antique buttons • limited edition teddy bears • handcrafted wooded toys
textiles from around the world • handcrafted millinery • fossils.

Unique gifts for all occasions!
